  • How to Set Up a Stud Gun for Welding CD Studs with a B Stop

    WELDER BRANDS:

This setup works for Truweld, Proweld, Midwest Fasteners, Erico, H.A. Jones, SWS stud welder guns.

    PARTS YOU WILL NEED:

    Accessories for Welding CD Studs

"B" Collet               Universal "B" Stop       CD Foot               CD Legs

STEP 1: Cut the Universal "B" Stop to the length necessary based on the length of your stud.  For a 1/2" CD stud, cut the stop so that 1/4" of the stud is in the collet and 1/4" is protruding.  You want to get as much of the stud into the collet as possible but you need at least 3/16" sticking out.

STEP 2: Place the Universal "B" Stop inside the collet, then install the collet in the gun shaft.  Tighten the set screws.

STEP 3: Screw the CD Gun Legs into the foot.

CD Stud Welder Foot with Legs

STEP 4: Slide the foot piece assembly (CD foot and 2 CD Legs) into holes in the face plate.  Line up the legs so the legs lines up with the face plate.  Adjust so the CD stud sticks out past the foot 1/8" - 3/16" (the plunge).  Tighten the set  screws in the face plate.
