Stud Gun Setup Guide for Insulation Pins

Follow these step-by-step instructions to properly set up your stud gun to weld insulation pins.

This setup works for Truweld, Proweld, Midwest Fasteners, Erico, H.A. Jones, and SWS stud welder guns.

Required Parts

1

Insert collet into gun.

Insert "B" Collet into gun.

2

Add Collet Protector

Slide Collet Protector over "B" Collet and insert insulation pin for alignment.  This will ensure alignment after set screws have been tightened.  Locate the two set screws that are lower than the other two.  These will be the only screws you tighten.  Place one of these screws in between the two set screws on the gun shaft.  Tighten screws snug.  Do not over tighten.

3

Make the foot assembly

Screw the CD legs into the foot. The 7" legs will work for insulation pins up to 6" in length.  The 12" legs will work for insulation pins up to 11".

4

Assemble the stud gun

Slide the foot piece assembly (CD foot and 2 CD Legs) into holes in the face plate.  Adjust so the insulation pin sticks out past the foot 1/8" and tighten the 2 screws in the face plate.
