WELDER BRANDS: This setup works for Nelson NS40 stud welder guns.
STEP 1:Place the Arc Chuck into the Arc Gun Chuck Adaptor. Hold the Arc Gun Chuck Adaptor and Arc Chuck in one hand and with the other hand lightly hammer or mallet the Arc Chuck to ensure it is seated properly.
STEP 2: Determine the size Nelson Style Arc Foot you need.
STEP 5: Determine the type of Nelson Style Arc Foot you need. Use a Closed Foot for stud lengths of 2" and shorter. For longer studs, use a Split foot to ease the loading of the stud into the gun.
STEP 6: Screw the 5/16" Arc Legs into the Nelson Style Arc Foot. The recess of the foot should face out. Leave the screws loose until you make your final plunge adjustment.
STEP 9: Determine the ferrule grip you need. For studs 2" and shorter, use a closed ferrule grip. For studs longer than 2" use a split ferrule grip.
STEP 7:Insert the Ferrule Grip in the Nelson Style Arc Foot. Tighten the set screws.
STEP 7:Slide the foot assembly into the gun so that Arc Chuck sticks out past the foot piece.
STEP 8: Insert a stud into the Arc Chuck.
STEP 11:Adjust the foot assembly so that the stud is centered in the middle of the Ferrule Grip. Tighten the leg screws.
STEP 11:Put a ferrule on the end of the stud and make the plunge adjustment. The plunge is the amount of the stud that sticks out past the ferrule grip not including the flux ball.
