How to Set Up a Proweld/Midwest Fasteners CD Stud Gun for Welding Aluminum Insulation Pins

This setup works for Proweld, Midwest Fasteners, Erico, H.A. Jones, SWS stud welder guns.

ITEMS NEEDED: 

Hybrid Collet    CD Foot      CD Legs    Spark Shield    Gun Spring Gold

STEP 1: Install hybrid collet in gun shaft and tighten set screws.  

STEP 2: Screw the legs on to the CD Foot.  The 7" legs will work for insulation pins up to 6" in length.  The 12" legs will work for insulation pins up to 11".

STEP 3: Install the spark shield in the foot with the allen screw that is in the bottom of the foot.

STEP 4: Slide the foot piece into face plate.  Adjust so that 1/8" to 3/16" of the pin is sticking out past the spark shield and tighten the set screws in the face plate.

STEP 5: Unscrew the rear cap and remove the silver spring.  Install the gold spring and screw the rear cap back on.
