How to Set Up a Stud Gun for Welding Insulation Pins

This setup works for Truweld, Proweld, Midwest Fasteners, Erico, H.A. Jones, and SWS stud welder guns.

PARTS YOU WILL NEED: 

"B" Collet           Collet Protector         CD Foot           CD Legs (2)

STEP 1: Insert "B" Collet into gun.

STEP 2: Slide Collet Protector over "B" Collet and insert insulation pin for alignment.  This will ensure alignment after set screws have been tightened.  Locate the two set screws that are lower than the other two.  These will be the only screws you tighten.  Place one of these screws in between the two set screws on the gun shaft.  Tighten screws snug.  Do not over tighten.

STEP 3: Screw the CD legs into the foot.

STEP 4: Slide the foot piece assembly (CD foot and 2 CD Legs) into holes in the face plate.  Adjust so the insulation pin sticks out past the foot 1/8" and tighten the 2 screws in the face plate.
